Issues

Where an issue comes from

Issues are created by a manager, in Maintenance. If you’re a member and notice something that isn’t right, you write it down as a report in a stay: a manager turns it into an issue.

What goes in

A title and a description, the category, the priority and, if you like, a due date and a few photos. You can add the estimated cost and who you’re calling, chosen from Who to call. An issue created as urgent also reaches the other managers by email straight away.

Who’s on it

Each issue can have a primary owner and other assignees, assigned by a manager. At first it has nobody: whoever creates it can tick I’ll take it. If an issue doesn’t have an owner yet, a member can also take it, from To do, under Nobody’s.

How far along it is

A manager moves the issue forward: Reported, Assessed, Planned, In progress, through to Completed. Each step stays in the History: who did what, and when.

What it cost

When you complete it, you can enter what it cost: the expense arrives in Expenses, to be confirmed.

Projects

Several issues that are part of the same job (for example “redo the bathroom”) are grouped under a project, which a manager creates. The project shows the estimated cost: the contractor’s quote, if there is one, or the sum of the issues’ costs.

Finding what you’re looking for

The list can be filtered by status, priority, category and project, and sorted by priority, due date, reported date or last updated.
