Expenses
Who sees them
Managers and anyone with a part of the house see Expenses. A manager decides the parts, in Members: for example, three siblings with one part each. A member without parts doesn’t see this section.
Adding an expense
With + Expense, enter the amount, the date, the category, who paid (a person with a part, or the common Kitty) and, if you like, a note. You can attach up to five photos or PDFs, 10 MB at most: the receipt, the invoice.
Who is ahead
The app compares what each person has paid with their part, and tells you who is ahead, who is behind and by how much, or that you’re even. The balance starts again from zero every year, in January, and uses today’s parts. What the Kitty pays isn’t part of this balance.
Expenses that arrive on their own
When an issue is closed with what it cost, or a reminder is completed with an amount, the expense arrives in Expenses, under To confirm: whoever sees Expenses chooses who paid and confirms it, or rejects it. Until it’s confirmed, it doesn’t count.
The budget
A manager can enter the year’s budget, with Set budget, to see where you stand.
If the house is rented out
If the house is marked Rented out, besides expenses you can record income, with Who received it. Income counts in the balance of who is ahead too.
Nothing gets lost
An expense isn’t deleted: it’s archived. With Only archived you find it again, and whoever entered it, or a manager, can restore it.
