What the house knows

How the house works

In Knowledge you write cards with the things whoever arrives needs: where the water shut-off valve is, how to turn on the boiler, where the fuse box is, how to close up the house when you leave, which day the rubbish is collected, where the spare keys are. When the section is empty, the app suggests exactly these questions to get you started. Cards are written by a manager; each one can have a category, a Location and a few photos, and the most important ones are pinned, in Important information.

Who to call

Useful numbers (the plumber, the electrician, the neighbour who has the keys) are in Who to call, at the top of Knowledge. A manager writes them in.

The inventory

What’s in the house and where: “towels · bedroom wardrobe”, “gas cylinders · garage”. Short lines, grouped by place, that everyone can write, members included. If you like, add the quantity: the app remembers when it was counted, and the oldest ones, up to three, appear at the top, under Recount when you are there.

To buy

A shared list for each house: anyone adds a line (“detergent”, “light bulbs”), ticks it off once they’ve picked it up, and everyone can see who picked it up. Ticked items stay crossed out until someone taps Clear the ticked ones.
